Configure newsletters, contact forms and the password page

Check form states and make your launch page useful before the store opens.

Configure a newsletter form

  1. Add Newsletter as a section, or a Newsletter block inside Footer. Enter a clear heading, text and button label.
  2. Preview a blank submission and an invalid email address. Browser validation messages can use the visitor’s browser language.
  3. Make a controlled test subscription using an address you own. Verify the success message and confirm the resulting customer/subscriber state in Shopify.
  4. Repeat on mobile, including an autofilled email address. Check that the field, button and success message fit their container.

Shopify handles the storefront newsletter submission. Your consent rules, customer settings and email marketing service determine what happens next. A theme success message does not mean a marketing campaign or confirmation email has been sent.

Configure the store contact form

  1. Add Contact form and choose Display mode → Standard for the form itself. Form CTA and Info CTA are alternative content presentations.
  2. Set Heading, Subheading, field placeholders and Submit button label. Review Custom field blocks where additional information is needed.
  3. Set Response note to a statement your business can meet. Replace the default response-time wording if it is not accurate.
  4. Test required fields, invalid email, a successful submission and receipt at the store’s configured contact destination. Review Shopify’s notification/contact configuration if no message arrives.

Prepare the password page

  1. Open the Password template. Set Brand tagline, Heading and Text to match your launch message; review the existing default copy rather than leaving unrelated industry text.
  2. Choose Background image and, if needed, Mobile background image. Set the overlay and Content alignment to keep the form readable.
  3. Use Show newsletter and Show social media icons to choose what appears. Social links come from Theme settings → Social media.
  4. Enable password protection in Shopify’s storefront preferences as appropriate. The theme’s password entry is for visitors with the storefront password, not the Shopify admin password.
