Design and navigation

Configure the header and footer

Connect menus, tune mobile navigation and place social links where shoppers can find them.

  1. Create your navigation menu in Shopify, including the correct resource links and any child items.
  2. In the theme editor, open Header → Menu and select that menu.
  3. Choose Desktop menu trigger and Desktop Header layout. Adjust Desktop header height and Mobile header height as needed.
  4. Choose Mobile menu style: Accordion or Page navigation. Test both the parent links and submenu controls.

Add a mega menu

Add a Mega menu block under Header. Set Menu item to the title of the top-level menu item you want to enhance. Matching uses normalized titles, so use a distinct menu title. Select a Collection and optional Promotion image, text and link. The Show featured products in mobile navigation and Show promotion in mobile navigation controls decide whether those additions appear in the mobile menu.

Control mobile scrolling behavior

ControlBehavior
Mobile header sticky behaviorShow when scrolling up or Always visible.
Mobile bottom navigation behaviorShow when scrolling down or Always visible. The default is Show when scrolling down.
Mobile bottom navigation itemsCollection, Menu, Cart and Search. The top header provides the account entry.
Open menu drawerThe bottom navigation hides while the menu is open. In scroll mode it returns after the menu closes and the shopper scrolls down.

Customer-account availability depends on your Shopify account settings. Configure customer accounts in Shopify, then check the actual account entry on desktop and mobile. Do not use a theme change as a substitute for enabling accounts.

  1. Open Footer. Add or edit Brand, Footer menu and Newsletter blocks.
  2. Choose the logo and description in Brand. Set Heading and Menu for each Footer menu block. Mobile menu state controls whether its links start Open or Closed.
  3. Set the Newsletter heading, text and button label. Use wording that matches your store’s actual email offer.
  4. Set Copyright text and payment-icon visibility in the Footer section. Payment methods and supported countries come from Shopify store settings.

Add social icons and Follow on Shop

  1. Enter full profile links under Theme settings → Social media. Empty profiles do not appear.
  2. Under Footer, add a Social media block. Set Social media position to Brand column bottom or Newsletter column bottom.
  3. Choose Icon colors: Official brand colors or Custom colors. For custom colors, set Custom icon color and Custom icon background in the block.
  4. To add Shopify’s native follow control, add Follow on Shop and select its position. Shopify controls its branding and availability; the social icon color setting does not recolor the Shop button.

Choose a placement with an existing Brand or Newsletter block. On mobile, the country selector is kept in the navigation drawer rather than repeated in the footer. Configure markets and the available countries in Shopify, then adjust the selector label under Theme settings → Internationalization.
