Before you start
Orveta controls your storefront layout and appearance. Products, collections, menus, pages, policies, payment methods and shipping rules are managed in Shopify. Create those resources in your store before selecting them in the theme editor.
Install an unpublished copy
- In Shopify, open Online Store → Themes. Use Add theme → Upload zip file if you have an Orveta theme ZIP. Upload the theme package, not this documentation package.
- Keep your current published theme while setting up Orveta. Open the new theme in the theme editor.
- Open Theme settings → Brand. Add your logo and favicon, then set Desktop Logo width and Mobile Logo width.
- Configure Colors, Color schemes, Typography and Layout. Open Header and Footer to select your menus.
- Use the template selector at the top of the editor to review Home page, Products, Collections, Pages, Blog posts and the Password page. Resource availability and wording can vary with your Shopify admin language.
- Select your own products, collections and images in each section. Check button links, mobile layout, cart and forms. Save, then preview the unpublished theme. Publish only when your store is ready.
First-store checklist
- At least one active product available to the Online Store sales channel, with a price, inventory settings and media.
- Collections and menus that link to published resources.
- Store policies, contact details and accurate delivery information.
- Customer accounts, markets and payments configured in Shopify where needed.
- Storefront text, footer links and launch copy reviewed in every language you publish.
